This afternoon, we had a meeting scheduled with a potential future partner, so Max and I took a car (the single nicest Buick I’ve ever seen -- they’re a luxury marque here) in to Shanghai. Unfortunately, thanks to the timings of the meeting, we didn’t get to see too much besides the potential partner’s facility (VERY impressive) and the area right around where we had dinner. The restaurant was called RBC (I think), and is apparently a Taiwanese chain. To my great surprise, the food was really good. I had a lasagna that was really, really good.
Anyway, so, after 3 hours of round-trip travel, we’ve been to Shanghai, but still have not ridden the Maglev. I think at this point that the plan is that I will try to get to the airport on the 28th three hours early. Two for the usual customs/immigration/checkin, and one extra hour to ride the Maglev to Shanghai and back.
It really is true what they say, by the way. Starbucks is frickin’ everywhere.
